Boundary Country is where the enduring stories of farmers, prospectors and Doukhobors can be explored on over 400 acres of history. Nestled above the picturesque river valley of Grand Forks, this landmark property boasts incredible mountain and valley views. Explore the rail to trails walking paths in the Boundary area.

Features of Our Property

Our property is just 15-20 minutes away from the down core, nearby rivers, lakes, golfing as well as local recreational activities at Phoenix ski hill and cross-country skiing trails. From the Kettle River to Galena Mountain and surrounding farmlands, Mtn Spa offers you everything you need for your well-being. While you are here, please inquire about our hydrotherapy room. Our sauna and cool-down tub are available to use at a fee of $50 per group per day.

While the scenic meadows host the Rocky and Western Mountain Blue Bird Sanctuary, this property is surrounded by Doukhobor villages.

Property Trail Map

Doukhobors were incredibly industrious and once extensively farmed 100 acres of alpine meadows on this hilltop. Trails were created by surrounding villages where they came from the communal farms over 100 acres of farmland. Below is an image of the maze of tails created to access this mountain top property.

North, South, East, and West

The Rich History of Mtn Spa

Doukhobors pilled rock cairns from clearing the land. On Mtn Spa’s historical farmland, they grew wheat, barley, oat, rye, flax and hemp. Oats that reseed still grow here.

You can enjoy the wide variety of plants and trees planted or naturally grown on the property as the most diversified landscape in all of British Columbia, the largest Bog Orchard with cliffs, alpine meadows, forest and natural springs. Saskatoon berry and jasmine trees line the roadway to the facility.

BMX Track and Disc Golf

We have a BMX track available for enthusiasts. You can also enjoy disc golf at our property. Instead of using golf clubs and balls aiming for a hole, disc golf players use discs and aim for a basket. It is a pole extending up from the ground with chains and a basket where the disc lands.

Get Ready for a Fulfilling Experience

From the geode-rich fields of Rock Candy Mine to the Boundary Museum, there is always something to do or explore, and you never know who you’ll see on the pitcher’s mound at the Grand Forks International Tournament. The timeless architecture of our downtown core invites a stroll into the galleries and shops that anchor our vibrant arts scene. The Trans Canada Trail and the Kettle and Granby River beckon you outdoors no matter the season. Trails are carved out all over the property for hiking, biking and cross-country skiing.

Take a walk through Grand Forks and get ready for some Instagram-worthy backdrops that are fun and colourful. We may be classified as a city, but settle down for any length of time in Grand Forks, and you’ll fall in love with our endearing small-town charm.
